The UK government offers hundreds of scholarships, bursaries and additional financial support to students from several countries. You can visit the UKCISA (UK Council for International Student Affairs) website to find out if you are eligible for a scholarship. Many institutions also offer their own financial assistance, and you can check their websites for more information. Lots of universities offer fully-funded postgraduate studentships.


Ongoing 2022 UK Government Scholarships

To apply for a Commonwealth Scholarship, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of a Commonwealth country. You will still be eligible if you are a refugee or British protected person. You also need to have an undergraduate honours degree of at least upper second class (2:1). The Commonwealth Master's Scholarships cover the airfare, living costs, tuition fees, travel cost, and even thesis or dissertation preparing costs. 
Chancellor's International Scholarships (2022)
Up to 100 scholarships are available to international applicants. As there are a limited number of awards available, these are highly competitive and only applicants with excellent academic achievement and potential will be considered. If you have excellent grades to date, you can apply for a scholarship after you have received an offer to study an eligible Bachelors or Masters at the University of Sussex in 2022.

  • Be taking up a place on a full time Masters degree, starting September 2022

How to apply 

To be considered for the Chancellor's International Scholarship, you need to have received and accepted an offer of a place on an eligible course at Sussex. Please complete the separate scholarship application form online, after you have received an offer to study at Sussex.

The successful applicant will need to ensure they have made plans or raised sufficient funds to cover the remaining tuition fee and costs of living, for the duration of their degree.
The West England Chancellor's scholarship is available to international postgraduate students.

About the scholarship
Recipients of this scholarship will be required to undertake an internship working within the International Office or other departments and will also be required to undertake ambassadorial activity for the University throughout the duration of the course.

Following graduation, recipients will also be expected to be an active member of the UWE Bristol Alumni Network by helping the University to promote its programmes to prospective students.

  • Warwick Chancellor's International Scholarships
These are offered in partnership with select UK universities. Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO)  Commonwealth Shared Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK. 
Intended beneficiaries: Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are for candidates from least developed and lower middle income Commonwealth countries, to undertake full-time Master’s study on selected courses at a UK university.
